On Thursday 26th May 2016, James Karundu, Founder and CEO of PassionBiz Academy held a free public talk on  the 5 keys to financial self improvement.

Many people often think that handling finances is a daunting and very difficult task. However, this is not the case. It is very simple for an individual to change their financial habits for the better. Mr. James Karundu highlighted 5 keys to financial success in his free talk held last week as follows:

Key 1 – Mind set shift

It is very easy to make more money as compared to making less. People are often too afraid to get out of their comfort zones and embrace dealing with high paying clients. You should never underestimate yourself and should always feel capable of handling high paying clients. Never settle for less and you will see this ideology lead to a great improvement in your finances.

Key 2 – Tend to the secret desires of your heart

A person who does something he has always aspired to do has a very positive attitude and is often happy. By following your dreams, you will be productive because you are doing something you are passionate about.

Key 3 – My money map

A money map refers to the several types of income you get. It is often misconceived that salary is the only element of the income stream. This is not the case. Different types of income are salary, passion income, passive income, residual income and recurrent income. Salary is a fixed regular payment made by an employer to an employee. Passion income is what you get paid after doing something you love. Passive income is an income received on a regular basis but with little effort required to maintain it. Key 4 – Monetize your brilliance

You are prone to provide a service to your friends, family members or workmates for free. This can be giving relationship advice, taking photos at events or even planning the family get together. What you do not realize is that you can monetize on this. You can make money from charging to provide these services that you are good at. You should have no regrets for monetizing your brilliance.

Key 5 – The company you keep

The people you spend your time with are a great influence in your life. Surrounding yourself with four negative thinkers will drain you of enthusiasm and optimism. Associating with high achievers and people who want to make a difference in their lives will encourage you to do the same. Make sure you spend time with people that you would like to emulate.
