Last Thursday, James Karundu hosted a free talk titled ‘Become a better marketer: How to find, get and keep high paying clients’. The talk was held at Kasuku Centre, Kileleshwa last Thursday. The free talk targeted service providers, entrepreneurs and startups.

James Karundu, Founder and CEO of PassionBiz Academy, spoke about why startups struggle to get clients and gave participants steps to follow in order to improve their marketing strategies. ‘It is a high-tech and high touch world. The world of marketing is crowded,’ said James.

James said that some of the reasons that people struggle to get clients is because they are timid, want a perfect product and do not target a profitable niche. He also said that people should stop constant hot pursuit (chasing clients in desperation) as this wastes energy. The participants were advised to set themselves as experts in their fields in order to attract more clients. “You should be seen as a commodity and not an authority,” explained James.
